Higher Electricity Tarrifs & New Levy on Non-Renewable Power Generation Comes into effect on 1 July 2009

Eskom's Electricity tariffs will increase as from 1 July 2009 by an amount of 31.3% (this is slightly short of the massive 34% increase Eskom applied for). At the same time, read this Engineering News article about the 2c/kWh (SARS) tax on electricity generated from non-renewable resources which will also be implemented starting 1 July.
